Travel & Stay

We are so grateful to have you join us for our wedding celebrations in St. Rémy, and to make the most of our time together, we're delighted to treat you to a stay at our venue, Chateau des Alpilles, for the entire weekend. There's nothing you need to do in advance to confirm a reservation, but if you have any special requests or wish to check-in/check-out on dates outside of those listed below, please let us know via the Comments / Questions line of the RSVP form or email our Planners, Haley & Alexis, at estelleandbertrand@willowandoakevents.com.

Family-owned country villa | 5-star

Chateau des Alpilles

In searching for our wedding venue, we wanted to find a place surrounded by nature, rich in history and imbued with the feeling of a family home. As you'll soon come to discover yourselves, this charming 19th century manor house ticked all the right boxes! With a romantic allée of hundred-year old plane trees, blue-shuttered windows so characteristic of the French country style and ground floor salons with Belle Époque details, Chateau des Alpilles felt like the perfect place to spend quality time together, both in and around the formal events.

BY PLANE

Avignon Airport, a 30-minute drive away, is the closest, with a limited number of domestic and European connections; But both Marseille (an hour away) and Montpellier (90 minutes away) have a wider spread of direct routes. If you're flying from the US, we find the most convenient arrival airport to be MRS (Marseille) with a connection through CDG (Paris).

BY TRAIN

St. Rémy is easily accessible by train or plane. Transportation will be provided to and from the above hotels on the wedding day, though we highly recommend renting a car if you'd like to explore the other areas of Provence. Rental cars can be collected upon arrival at the airport or train station, though it's something you'll need to reserve in advance.

If you choose to book a taxi or ground transfer to St. Rémy from the airport or train station, we recommend reaching out to Julien Rosso (Taxi-rosso@orange.fr) or SUD VTC (agence.alpilles.luberon@sudvtc.com)

PARKING

There is no train station in St. Rémy, however, there are 2 train stations in Avignon, just 30 minutes away. Avignon Central offers regional train journeys, including Marseille and Montpellier, while Avignon TGV offers high-speed journeys from big cities like Paris, Lyon or Lille. The TGV is often used in conjunction with Eurostar journeys from London, Amsterdam, Brussels and the like.

A car will come in handy if you want to explore parts of Provence beyond St. Rémy. Parking at Chateau des Alpilles is plentiful and included in your stay. If you'd like to venture into St. Rémy at any point, there is a central parking lot that charges by the hour called Parking Place de la République (located next to Café la Place and a charming carousel), though it does fill up very quickly. Additionally, free parking can be found on Avenue de la Libération, just off Boulevard Mirabeau, called Parking de la Libération.

If you decide to visit the nearby Les Baux de Provence, please note that as a pedestrian-only town, you will need to park your car at the bottom of the cliffside village. There are many inclines to reach the entrance of the village from the lot and more stairs throughout the town, so we would not recommend this excursion for anyone with injuries or restrictions that significantly limit walking abilities.
